Hayley works in an overall with white marks painting a fence black. “Just before I was painting the cupboards white.” – she explains laughing. “I’d sooner do it than pay someone. This is us, kiwi women, I suppose, able and independent.” She choose black as the new color to give a nice frame to the vivid green vegetation behind. Hayley is busy sorting everything about the house before she moves in with her four and a half year old son. The sunny and breezy weather we have been having lately only helps her to finish sooner.
