Margaret set up a stall in front of her house to sell the walnuts of her beautiful old walnut tree. She is protecting her face from the bright sunlight with a cheerful straw hat, which alongside her distinctive outfit, the signs and balloons attracts people. She is left with the last bags early Sunday afternoon. “I’ve done this in the past years but this may be the last time. I lost my husband a while ago and this three-bedroom house is a little big for me. I am looking for a smaller one to save money.” Margaret also tells me people don’t really bargain on her naturally grown walnuts. “There was one person who wanted it cheaper but in the end he came back to buy them anyway. You don’t get anything like this in the supermarket. I don’t spray them, they are practically bio-produce.”
