As always, the temporary structures of the Re:START mall are buzzing with life on this mid-summer day. The benches are occupied by people comfortably chatting in the shade. Two beautiful young women seem to be in deep conversation unconsciously forming a secluded bubble in the vibrant life by the asphalt-covered footpath and the hot metal surfaces of the shipping containers. Joyce is spending her last days in New Zealand. She came with her friends from the U.S. to spend a holiday here on their break from college. “I find Christchurch quite disconcerting. I thought works would be a bit further ahead, but things still seem to be shattered.”
